Open Status Saver
Launch the app and complete the short introductory setup when using it for the first time.
How it works
From folder access to saved media in a few simple steps.
Status Saver uses Android's built-in folder access system. You select the folder, the app displays supported status media, and you decide what to save, share, favourite or protect.
Getting started
Connect your status folder
The app does not automatically search your entire device. You explicitly select the folder you want Status Saver to access.

Choose WhatsApp source
Select either WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business depending on which status folder you want to view.

Select the status folder
Android's system folder picker opens. Navigate to the relevant .Statuses folder and approve access.

Start browsing
Status Saver reads supported photos and videos from the folder you authorized and displays them inside the app.
Folder permissions
You choose what the app can access.
Status Saver relies on Android's Storage Access Framework. The folder selection interface is provided by Android rather than by Status Saver.
Access is limited to folders you authorize.
No MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE or unrestricted
All Files Access is required.
WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business can be
connected separately.
Folder access can be removed through
Android settings or changed by reconnecting.
Browse
Find the media you want
After a folder is connected, available status photos and videos are displayed in the app.
All
View supported images and videos together in one status gallery.
Images
Filter the gallery so only image statuses are displayed.
Videos
View video statuses separately with supported playback controls.
Saving media
Save a status to your device
Saving creates your own copy of the selected media. The original status source is not modified.

Select media
Open a photo or video, or use the download action available from supported app screens.

Tap Save
Status Saver copies the media using Android's supported media storage system.

View Saved
Saved media can be accessed from the app's dedicated Saved section.

Share or manage
Open the saved item to view, share, favourite or delete it.
Organization
Keep useful media easy to find
Favorites
Mark a status as a favourite to create an app-level bookmark. Favouriting alone does not create a separate saved gallery copy.
Sorting
Choose your preferred sorting order for supported status lists.
Grid Options
Adjust supported grid preferences for a viewing layout that suits your device.
Multi-Select
Select multiple items together for supported bulk media actions.
New / Seen Tracking
The app can locally distinguish newly detected items from statuses you have already viewed.
Refresh
Refresh a connected source to detect currently available media in the authorized folder.
App security
Protect access with App Lock
App Lock provides additional protection when somebody has access to your unlocked device.
Configure a six-digit PIN.
The plain-text PIN is not stored directly.
Use fingerprint or face authentication
when supported and enabled.
PIN remains available as a fallback.
Private Vault
Encrypt media you want to keep private.
Private Vault stores selected media separately inside app-private storage using encryption protected through Android platform security.
Vault media is encrypted at rest.
Android Keystore is used to protect
the Vault encryption key.
Temporary decrypted preview/share files
may be created only when needed.
Vault screens use Android screenshot
protection where supported.
Sharing
Share using Android's standard tools
Status Saver integrates with Android's sharing system so you remain in control of where compatible media goes.
Standard Share Menu
Use Android's system share chooser to select a compatible destination.
Multiple Media
Supported screens allow multiple selected items to be shared together.
Vault Sharing
Vault media is temporarily decrypted into a restricted cache location only when sharing is requested.
Important

Status Saver provides tools for accessing and managing media available through folders you authorize.
Save Responsibly
Only save or use content when you have the right or permission to do so.
Share Responsibly
You are responsible for deciding whether you have permission to redistribute another person's media.
